About Us

Welcome to The Delicate Flower B&B. Brad and I, (Pat), along with our two Boxer girls Emma and Zoey (the 4-legged variety) are the proud owners of this historic landmark, the Morton-Sizemore House. She is a lovely 1885 Queen Anne Victorian that we purchased in 2018 and converted to the B&B in 2019.

We found this lovely property, located in the heart of Clarksville, Virginia, a little lakeside town featuring Kerr Lake. Kerr Lake boasts 50,000 acres of fun in the sun and is just a short walk away, with shopping and restaurants lining our picturesque wide main street, Virginia Ave.

When you come to join us, we can share the long version of how this venture came to be, but the short version is a story of a love of old homes. (As with many husband and wife teams, our story may sound a little different depending on who's telling the story!)

When we purchased this home in 2018, she had been empty and neglected for a number of years. She was in desperate need of a roof and many of the rooms had peeling wallpaper and falling plaster ceilings and walls and she needed paint, inside and out!  We were blessed to see most of the hardwood floors were in great shape! Over the last year and a half we have worked tirelessly to restore this painted lady, bringing her back to life which includes a new roof, updated electricity, repaired walls, freshly painted rooms, updated and newly installed bathrooms and a much needed heating and air-conditioning system. A definite labor of love.

She is now ready to share with you. Come sit awhile on the front porch, relax with a beverage, enjoy conversation with other guests or just sit and watch town happenings. Front row seats for the town parades! Our small town is always doing something.

The Delicate Flower B&B includes four large bedrooms, with three completely renovated bedrooms upstairs, two having private baths. The downstairs bedroom is currently being renovated as an accessible bedroom with an accessible bathroom being updated close by. The common rooms include a dining area and a sitting area to sit and read quietly or gather to enjoy other guests' company.

NOTE: We are a Non-Smoking property. Additionally, although we love animals and have two of our own on the premises, we cannot accommodate other pets at this time, unless they are a certified service dog.
